Video: Staten Island Shooting Leaves Woman Dead and Man Shot in Head at Garth Court
A Staten Island shooting left a 39-year-old woman dead and a 27-year-old man seriously injured Thursday at 14 Garth Court, prompting a major NYPD investigation.
Woman Fatally Shot in the Torso
NYPD officers responding to the location found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her torso. She was pronounced dead following the shooting.
Her identity has not yet been publicly released pending notification of her family.
Man Found With Gunshot Wound to Head
A 27-year-old man was also discovered with a gunshot wound to his head. Emergency medical personnel transported him for urgent treatment, but his latest condition was not immediately available.
Video from the scene shows numerous police officers and emergency vehicles surrounding the property while investigators collect evidence.
NYPD Investigates Deadly Garth Court Shooting
The shooting occurred within the NYPD’s 122nd Precinct on Staten Island. Detectives are working to determine what led to the gunfire and whether the two victims knew each other.
Police have not immediately announced an arrest or released a description of a suspected shooter.
