Iowa Tornado Warning Continues for Brighton, Richland and Ollie Until 10 AM CDT
A tornado warning continues for Brighton, Richland and Ollie, Iowa, until 10:00 a.m. CDT Thursday as radar indicates dangerous rotation moving through the region.
Areas Under the Tornado Warning
The warning covers portions of southeastern Keokuk County, southwestern Washington County and northern Jefferson County.
Brighton, Richland, Ollie, Packwood, Rubio, Abingdon, Salina and West Chester are among the communities inside the warning area.
Radar Indicates Dangerous Rotation
Radar detected rotation moving toward Richland, Packwood and Ollie at approximately 40 mph. Pea-sized hail is also possible with the storm.
Around 4,018 people and three schools are located within the warning area, according to the National Weather Service graphic.
Take Cover Immediately
Residents should move immediately to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows and protect your head from flying debris.
Anyone outdoors or inside a mobile home should seek shelter in a substantial building immediately and remain there until the tornado warning expires or authorities issue an update.
