Gunfire Erupts at Tacoma Walmart During Shoplifting Arrest, No Injuries Reported

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred outside a Walmart in Tacoma, Washington, during the arrest of a suspected shoplifter on Thursday evening. No injuries were reported.

According to the Tacoma Police Department, officers were arresting a shoplifting suspect at the Walmart on Union Avenue around 8:14 p.m. when a black sedan carrying four occupants drove past and fired multiple rounds near the scene.

Authorities said it remains unclear whether the shooting was connected to the shoplifting arrest or who the intended target of the gunfire was. The suspects fled the area, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting as the investigation continues.
