Multiple people killed in shooting in Caswell County, North Carolina; one hospitalized

PROSPECT HILL, N.C. — Multiple people were killed and one person was hospitalized with a gunshot wound following an early morning shooting in Prospect Hill, Caswell County, North Carolina, authorities said.

The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office responded just before 8 a.m. to a residence on Brooks Road, where deputies found multiple victims who had been shot. One survivor was transported to Duke University Hospital for treatment.

Caswell County Sheriff Tony Durden requested assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), which has deployed crime scene investigators to process evidence and conduct interviews.

Authorities said there is no threat to the general public, and the incident is believed to be contained to the residence.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials said additional information, including the number of victims and possible suspect details, will be released as it becomes available.
