Authorities have charged a second Birmingham shooting suspect in connection with the August 12 killing of 26-year-old Quindarius Allen. Quenton Christian Washington, 20, faces capital murder charges for Allen’s death and attempted murder charges for a second victim who sustained life-threatening injuries.

Shooting Incident Details

Police responded to a Shot Spotter alert at 12:15 a.m. on the 900 block of Fifth Avenue North, finding both victims inside a vehicle struck by multiple gunfire. Allen was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:35 a.m., while the second victim was rushed to the hospital. Investigators believe the suspects approached the vehicle and opened fire on the occupants.

Prior Arrests and Additional Charges

Dorian Talley II, also 20, was previously arrested in connection with the shooting. He faces charges of capital murder, attempted murder, and hindering prosecution, allegedly attempting to conceal evidence to protect other suspects.

Legal Proceedings and Detention

Washington is currently held without bond in Jefferson County Jail, having previously been booked on unrelated charges. Court records indicate both suspects could face significant prison time if convicted. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting.
