Authorities have confirmed that Gare du Nord evacuated in Brussels earlier today due to a suspicious bag found inside the station. Police and railway officials are actively conducting an operation to secure the area.

According to SNCB spokesperson Dimitri Temmerman, the station was cleared shortly before 7 PM under police orders. All train traffic between Brussels-North and Brussels-South has been temporarily suspended.

Passengers affected by the evacuation are advised that their train tickets can be used on Brussels’ STIB buses and trams. Meanwhile, other trains are being rerouted where possible, including direct diversions from Brussels-Midi to Schaerbeek.

Authorities emphasized that the Gare du Nord evacuated as a precaution and that police are investigating the situation thoroughly. Travelers are urged to follow official updates and avoid the station until the area is declared safe.
