Three Lorain Police Officers Shot in Ambush: Update on Ongoing Manhunt and Investigation

Three Lorain police officers shot in an ambush near Colorado Avenue in Lorain, Ohio. The officers had responded to reports of shots fired in the Colorado Industrial Park area near Missouri Avenue on the afternoon of July 21, 2025, when they were suddenly met with gunfire from a hidden shooter. Authorities believe the suspect used a high-powered rifle to carry out the attack.
The shooting took place as officers were investigating the initial disturbance call, and the situation quickly escalated into a dangerous ambush. Multiple rounds were fired, hitting three officers. The severity of their injuries has not yet been officially disclosed by local law enforcement or hospital officials.
One suspect has been confirmed dead at the scene, though it remains unclear whether the suspect’s death was caused by police gunfire or was self-inflicted. Police have not released further details about any additional suspects.
