Video: White House Lockdown Triggered by Security Incident on North Lawn

A brief White House lockdown occurred on Monday morning following a security incident involving a tourist near the North Lawn.
At around 11:30 a.m. EDT, members of the White House press pool were suddenly ordered by a Secret Service official to evacuate the North Lawn area — including reporters stationed at the commonly used “Pebble Beach” location — and move into the press briefing room. No initial explanation was provided.
Shortly after, White House Press Secretary confirmed that a tourist had thrown an object over the White House fence, prompting an immediate lockdown as a precautionary measure.
The lockdown was short-lived. The Secret Service conducted a swift response, and the grounds were soon declared safe. According to the press secretary, the security alert was lifted, and the situation returned to “green” status, meaning all operations resumed as normal.
Footage of the incident showing the press being moved indoors circulated quickly on social media, raising speculation about the nature of the threat before official clarification.
At this time, officials have not disclosed details about the object thrown or the identity of the tourist. The White House lockdown has since been lifted, and no injuries or damages have been reported.
