Body of Missing Augusta Fisherman Found in Kennebec River

BATH, Maine — Authorities have confirmed that the body recovered along the Kennebec River near Bath on Wednesday evening is that of missing fisherman Robert Stolt, 22, of Augusta.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner announced Thursday that Stolt drowned, and his death has been ruled an accident.
Stolt had been reported missing after failing to return from a fishing trip earlier this month, prompting a multi-agency search effort that stretched for days along the riverbanks.
Officials have not released further details about the circumstances of his disappearance. No foul play is suspected.
The community has expressed deep sympathy to Stolt’s family and friends following the tragic outcome.
