Fatal Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Injured in Newark

Newark Police investigate a fatal shooting that left one man dead and one man injured at 858 South 17th Street in Newark, New Jersey, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. At approximately 4:00 PM, Wednesday afternoon an unidentified man was fatally shot to the abdomen and another unidentified man was injured after being shot to the arm. At this time there are no arrests and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is conducting the investigation. Several shell casings were recovered at the scene by members of the ECPO.
