At least two people injured after plane makes crash landing at park in southwest Sydney, Australia

At least two people injured after plane makes crash landing at park in southwest Sydney, Australia; both suffered minor injuries but refused treatment.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have rushed to a park in Sydney’s south-west where a light plane has made a crash landing.

The single-engine aircraft, with two people on board, was on a training flight when it made a forced landing at Terone sports park in Bossley Park, around 2.30 this afternoon.

It appears the plane suffered engine failure in flight.

The young pilot shut down a series of onboard systems and made the emergency landing.

The plane has come to rest amongst trees, near sporting courts, in the corner of the park.

The pilot and his passenger suffered minor injuries but have refused treatment by ambulance paramedics.

The sports park was occupied by students from an adjacent school at the time of the crash but none have been injured.
