Northern Lights may be seen tonight in the UK as red alert issued

The Northern Lights could be seen in the UK tonight, with some lucky Brits in prime position to view the natural wonder.

The website AuroraWatch – run by scientists at the Planetary Physics group at Lancaster University – has a red alert in place, which means Aurora is ” likely to be visible by eye from Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland”. Other points in the UK are also possible with “photographs of aurora are likely from anywhere in the UK.
