VIDEO: State of Emergency declared as dam failure causes major flooding in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia

A state of emergency has been declared as major flooding is currently occurring after a dam broke at the Kialimskoye reservoir in the Chelyabinsk region of Russia, as the nearest populated areas are beginning to flood.

The village of Kialim has been completely evacuated due to the destruction of the dam. The incident was facilitated by the Caspian cyclone, which flooded the region for several days.

The villages of Baidashevo, Karasevo and Mukhometovo are currently under threat and a state of emergency has been declared in the Karabash district, and buses are being prepared for evacuation.

A section of the Miass-Karabash-Kyshtym highway from 35 to 38 km is also flooded, according to 112 and Mash on Friday. VIDEO:
