The video poster claimed that the passengers were tied up and possibly being trafficked.
The video poster claimed that the passengers were tied up and possibly being trafficked. On June 21, our officers stopped the vehicle on I-85 Northbound near Sugarloaf Parkway.

The truck’s cargo area contained two families, totaling eight people, including two juveniles. None of them were tied up or in distress. They appeared healthy and agreed to speak with the officers.

The occupants explained that they were traveling from Alabama to Maryland for a new job opportunity, and the truck also carried their personal belongings. The driver was cited for allowing passengers to ride in the back of the truck without seatbelts.

The officers took the occupants to a local business so they could find an alternate way to continue their journey to Maryland. There is no evidence at this time of human trafficking. VIDEO:
