One man is dead and nearly 30 others are injured following a mass shooting in Akron early Sunday morning.
The Akron Police Department responded to the area of Kelly and 8th Avenue for several reports of shots fired shortly after midnight. At the scene, officials found 27 people suffering gunshot wounds, including one fatality, a 27-year-old man.
All of the victims were transported to local hospitals for their injuries. The conditions or severity of the victims’ injuries are unknown at this time.
It is unclear what led to the shooting and no arrests have been made at this time.
