FBI arrests Blaze Media’s Steve Baker over J6 reporting

Investigative journalist Steve Baker was taken into custody by the FBI on Friday. He was detained for “non-violent misdemeanors” that his employer Blaze Media has stated amounts to his reporting on J6.

In video posted by Blaze Media, Baker is seen being taken away by authorities in an arrest.

The Blaze reported, “Blaze Media Investigative Journalist [Steve Baker] has now been taken into FBI custody for his J6 reporting.”

Baker announced on Tuesday that his legal team had been notified by the FBI that there is a signed warrant for his arrest, and was ordered to self-surrender to federal authorities for “alleged J6 crimes” on Friday in Dallas, Texas.

On Tuesday, Baker announced online that there was a warrant for his arrest.

In the thread of the announcement, the journalist said that he was required to turn himself in to the FBI at 7 a.m. on Friday in Texas where he would then be transported to the Dallas Courthouse. He is scheduled for a 10 a.m. meeting local time before the magistrate.

“My attorneys have also been assured by the gov. that this will be an ‘in and out’ affair and that they have “no intention” of detaining me. But, rather than issuing a simple order to appear, they seem to feel the need to give me a dose of the personal humiliation treatment,” Baker wrote.
