Three Deaths Reported So Far In Fierce Winter Storm Hitting California

Officials said Monday that two people have been killed as a result of the heavy winter storm now hitting California.

The two unidentified were killed by falling trees in Northern California, with the storm having come ashore now for about 36 hours.

Related problems include mudslides, flooding and power blackouts, in a storm from Northern to Southern California.

Wind gusts of 80 mph have been recorded in the state’s Bay Area, Sacramento Valley and Central Coast regions.

One of the fatalities occurred in Santa Cruz County and other was in Sutter County,” according to the state’s Office of Emergency Services.
