Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office identifies ‘John Doe’ in 1994 cold case

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man whose body was found nearly 30 years ago.

On October 29, 1994, the body of an unidentified male was found in a field located at 5600 W. 47th St. S. On Thursday, the sheriff’s office confirmed that the man was Harold “James” Crawford. He was 21 when he died.

Until now, Crawford had been declared a “John Doe” on the sheriff’s office list of unsolved homicide cases.
