South Carolina will carry out more executions by lethal injection after being supplied with pentobarbital, the drug used to kill a death row inmate, it has been announced.

The state’s Governor Henry McMaster announced Tuesday that the S.C. Department of Corrections is now prepared to carry out executions by lethal injection after supplies have been found for the drug that was in low stock.

The announcement read: “Governor Henry McMaster and the S.C. Department of Corrections informed the S.C. Supreme Court today that the department is now prepared to carry out executions by lethal injection.
