Nine vehicles have crashed on the Bruce Hwy on the Sunshine Coast, causing traffic chaos as emergency services respond.
The cars crashed at Landsborough, near Caloundra, about 2pm on Monday.
Seven people have been transported to hospital, all in stable conditions, with 12 in total being medically assessed.
No serious injuries have been reported.
All southbound lanes on the highway were closed as a result of the crash.
Drivers needing to use the southbound lanes have been urged to find an alternative route.
“Southbound lanes blocked following large multi-vehicle traffic crash 2km south of Caloundra Interchange,” police said.
“While diversions are currently in place onto Steve Irwin Way, motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.”
