Update: 1 person is dead and 8 injured after a tour boat capsized in upstate NY

One person has died after a tour boat capsized Monday morning at the Lockport Cave, a historical, underground boat ride along the Erie Canal in upstate New York, the local fire chief said.

In addition, eight people, all in stable condition, have been treated by the Eastern Niagara Health System, an official said. Some patients have already been released, according to a hospital spokesperson.
