SIU School of Medicine developing AI medical training

The Springfield Memorial Foundation and SIU School of Medicine are investing $2 million to develop medical training programs that use artificial intelligence. The technology allows the team at SIU Medicine to turn real people into avatars and have medical professionals train them on common patient interactions and questions.

The work is underway at the Ed Curtis Laboratory for Innovation in Medical Education.
