Police Deploy Water Cannons as Clashes Erupt in Zurich, Switzerland – Video

Police deployed water cannons in Zurich’s District 4 on Saturday night, October 31, as clashes broke out around Langstrasse and Helvetiaplatz.

Several hundred people gathered in the area for an unauthorized demonstration, according to Swiss media. Participants erected barricades using rubbish containers and other objects, setting some of them alight.

Officers moved to push demonstrators back while firefighters extinguished burning objects. Further confrontations were reported in nearby streets, along with damage to windows and street infrastructure.

The unrest followed online calls for protests in Zurich amid demonstrations elsewhere in Europe.
