Ken Paxton Announces Arrests Over Alleged Illegal Voting in Texas’ 2026 Election

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced on October 31 that his office had arrested convicted felons accused of illegally casting ballots in the 2026 election.

According to the attorney general’s office, the investigation began after an October 27 tip alleging that people with felony convictions who were incarcerated, on parole or on probation had voted in Harris County.

Investigators reviewed voter registration records and voting activity, then asked the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to verify the individuals’ status. The department confirmed that multiple individuals were on parole when they voted, making them ineligible under Texas law, the statement said.

Arrest warrants were issued in Montgomery County on October 30, and officers from the attorney general’s office subsequently made the arrests.

Paxton said the Election Integrity Unit was investigating additional reports of election crimes.
