Drone Sightings Halt Jersey Airport Landings for Second Night

Flights were prevented from landing at Jersey Airport for a second consecutive night on Saturday, October 31, after further drone sightings near the airfield.
Services from London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Southampton were cancelled. An incoming charter flight from Madeira was diverted to Paris Charles de Gaulle, according to ITV News.
The disruption followed Friday evening’s drone activity, which forced three incoming aircraft to divert back to the UK.
Jersey’s Chief Minister, Lyndon Farnham, said authorities were working with UK officials and specialist agencies to explore additional support, improved detection and counter-drone technology.
Police appealed for information about drone operators and possible launch locations. Anyone witnessing someone operating a drone was urged not to approach them and to call 999 with the location and relevant details.
