Javits Frimpong’s Mother to Receive Visa After Son’s Killing in the Bronx, New York

The mother of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong will be granted a visa immediately so she can travel to say goodbye to her son, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Saturday.
Mamdani said President Donald Trump agreed to grant the visa following a conversation between them.
Frimpong was fatally shot while walking to school in the Bronx on Thursday morning. Police said three teenage boys wanted in connection with the shooting remain at large.
His father said he brought Javits from Ghana about a year ago in hopes of giving him a better life.
Family members, religious leaders and residents gathered Friday for a vigil at the location where the teenager collapsed.
