Traveler loses $250K in jewelry to customs inspector at Philly airport

Customs officers seized more than $250,000 in undeclared jewelry from a woman arriving from Amsterdam at Philadelphia International Airport. The traveler, identified only as a Pennsylvania resident, declared the items only after officers told her they were already aware of the purchase, it said.

"CBP officers provided the traveler multiple opportunities to declare the jewelry, but she did not," the statement continued.
