Teacher who fought gunman at Bend elementary school releases statement

The teacher who fought with the gunman during the shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend has released her first statement. Schutz was the teacher who threw her cellphone at the shooter and wrestled him for the shotgun, according to Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz.

On Friday, Bend-La Pine Schools released a statement from Cassidy Schutz, who is a certified learning specialist at the elementary school.
