Man, 72, Charged Over Online Threats to Federal MP in Australia

Australian Federal Police charged a 72-year-old man on Friday over allegations he threatened a federal parliamentarian on social media.

Investigators searched a home in North Parramatta and seized a mobile phone for forensic examination.

The man faces one count of using a carriage service to make a threat to a person. He received conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Parramatta Local Court on December 9.
