Fire officials say commercial building fire near Shallotte not related to other fires

A fire at Ike’s Pit off Old Georgetown Road took more than four hours to bring under control Wednesday evening. Fire Department Chief Buddy Causey said welding equipment stored inside the building caused several explosions as the fire burned.
