BREAKING: U.S. Economy Grows at 3.4% Annualized Rate in Third Quarter

The U.S. economy expanded at an annualized rate of 3.4% in the third quarter of 2026, accelerating from 2.2% in the previous quarter, according to preliminary figures released Thursday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Growth was supported by higher investment, consumer spending and government spending, while declining exports partly offset those gains.

The inflation-adjusted figures cover July through September. A second estimate is scheduled for November 25.
