Driver Seriously Injured as Crash Forces L124 Closure Near Zeven, Germany

A 53-year-old driver was seriously injured when his car struck a roadside tree on the L124 near Zeven, Germany, on Thursday morning, police said.

The Nissan was travelling towards Heeslingen at around 6:30 a.m. when it left the road. No other vehicle was involved.

Investigators believe the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was fully closed for approximately an hour during the rescue operation.

Police are investigating on suspicion of endangering road traffic.
