A magnitude 3.5 earthquake was recorded near Whanganui at 2026-10-29 16:25 NZDT, according to European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The earthquake was measured at a depth of about 10.0 km. The epicenter was approximately 31 km from Whanganui.
