After deadly street takeover shooting, CMPD chief explains new curfew

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a double homicide after a shooting occurred during a street takeover and car meet-up event over the weekend. CMPD Chief Estella Patterson confirmed the fatal incident stems from a recurring issue law enforcement officers have encountered for several months.

Two 16-year-olds and two 19-year-olds were shot in an industrial zone located off Ridge Creek Drive.
