Wedgewood recall disrupts some veterinary medications at Northstate clinics

A nationwide recall involving medications from Wedgewood, a major compounding pharmacy, is affecting veterinary clinics in the Northstate. Those drugs are no longer available through Wedgewood.

Wedgewood wasn’t Cottonwood Small Animal Clinic’s main pharmacy, but the clinic still relied on it for some medications. Gina Langford, a veterinarian at Cottonwood Small Animal Clinic, said one affected medication is buprenorphine, an opioid commonly used to treat cats.
