Huntsville Hospital system receives federal rural health funding

The connection means patient records, labs and imaging follow patients if they are transferred to Huntsville. They said more funding is still to come to help rural Alabama.

Leaders said the system also is getting millions of dollars more for telemedicine, EMS and rural residency programs. “Health care is so local, and we’re using these funds to help rural hospitals be sustained.”
