Hermitage, Mo., school district asks voters again for 50-cent levy increase

The Hermitage school district is asking voters for the second time to approve a 50-cent tax levy increase. The district says the consequences of another loss could be detrimental to students and staff.
The same measure, Proposition Teachers, failed in August. The current levy was originally set due to a state mandate requiring districts to set at least a $2.75 levy to receive full state aid.
