Vienna Police Seize 254 Fireworks During Train Checks in Austria

Police seized 254 pyrotechnic items during checks at Vienna’s Floridsdorf station, according to a report published Tuesday.

Officers inspected eight trains arriving from the Czech Republic during an October 11 operation targeting illegal fireworks.

Three young people aged 12 and 16 were carrying pyrotechnic items, including products containing prohibited flash powder. Officers also discovered additional fireworks in a train rubbish bin but could not link them to anyone.

Administrative offence reports were filed.
