Walterboro man dies after motorcycle crash on I-26 in Berkeley County, South Carolina
A Walterboro man died after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 26 in Berkeley County, according to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
Victims and emergency response
Von Reid Hiner, 57, was pronounced dead at a local emergency room, Coroner Darnell Hartwell said.
Hiner was the sole occupant of a 2023 Indian motorcycle traveling eastbound on I-26 near Exit 194.
Crash under investigation
This crash is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The office was notified of his death at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 27.
