Judge orders Harrison County clerk out of office after her arrest

A judge has ordered Harrison County Clerk Lee Ann Miles to vacate her office following her recent arrest on felony charges.

Official response and confirmed impact

The order also prevents her from entering the county clerk’s office, exercising the authority of her position, or using county property and credit cards.

The civil proceeding follows Miles’ arrest earlier this month on allegations that she stole more than $125,000 from an elderly client.

Incident under investigation

The Missouri Attorney General’s Office obtained a preliminary court order prohibiting Miles from performing her official duties.

Miles has 10 days to respond to the court’s action. She was served with notice of the preliminary order Friday while remaining in custody.
