East Manatee deputy fire marshal receives lithium-ion battery training

FPL operates nearly 1,600 megawatts of utility-scale battery energy storage systems, which is enough to power over 1 million homes for four hours. Kyle Brooks, deputy fire marshal for East Manatee Fire Rescue, attended one of FPL's battery storage training sessions at Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue.

The company plans to add nearly 900 MW more by the end of the year.
