Portland Fire Department Response at POET Biorefining

(10-24-26) This afternoon, City of Portland Fire Department responded to a reported fire in the distillers grains storage area at POET Biorefining. POET’s on-site dry hydrant allowed firefighters the ablilty to quickly establish a tanker shuttle operation to supply water to Portland’s ladder truck and handlines.

Additional support was quickly requested from the Pennville Fire Department and Redkey Volunteer FIRE Department for extra manpower and tankers to assist with firefighting efforts.
