DEC provides fire safety tips

The DEC provided safety tips for burning outdoors. Avoid burning on windy days. – Build campfires away from overhanging branches, steep slopes, rotten stumps, logs, dry grass and leaves.

In the case of an emergency, contact the Forest Ranger’s Emergency line: (833) 697-7264. This will keep the campfire from spreading.
