Qatar Airways Seattle-Bound Flight Reportedly Lost GPS Signals Over Iraq

A Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Seattle, Washington, reportedly experienced a loss of GPS signals while flying over Iraq on October 20, according to aviation website AIRLIVE.

The report said the crew of flight QR719, operated by Boeing 777-300ER A7-BAO, experienced persistent GPS signal loss and later contacted the airline’s operations centre while over Poland.

Flight-tracking records confirm that the aircraft completed its journey to Seattle, landing at 12:40 p.m. local time.

The reported GPS malfunction has not been independently confirmed. AIRLIVE described interference as a suspected cause.
