Victim killed in wrong-way I-26 crash remembered as ‘dependable,’ ‘a good man’

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is releasing new details about a wrong-way crash on Interstate 26 that killed a Leicester man and left his brother hospitalized. The Honda was driven by Jimmy Brooks of Leicester, who was killed in the crash.

Investigators say 54-year-old Bradley Lanier drove a Tesla up the exit ramp at Long Shoals Road and entered the interstate traveling against traffic heading eastbound.
