NATO to Strengthen Black Sea Surveillance After Ships Hit

NATO will send additional surveillance, reconnaissance and forensic support to the Black Sea region following incidents in which ships were hit, the alliance said Tuesday.

Spokesperson Allison Hart announced the move after NATO ambassadors discussed Black Sea security at a North Atlantic Council meeting.

Hart said NATO had already strengthened its eastern flank, including counter-drone capabilities, and would deploy additional assets to the region.
