Some Heber-Overgaard neighbors say tornado alert came too late, we looked into it

Some residents in the Heber-Overgaard area say a wireless emergency alert warning them about a tornado came too late. National Weather Service meteorologists say, on average, its warnings are issued 8 to 15 minutes before a weather event.

It meant they didn’t have time to prepare before a suspected tornado touched down Wednesday evening.
