Tornado Watch Issued for Parts of Arizona and New Mexico Until 9 PM MDT

A tornado watch has been issued for parts of Arizona and New Mexico until 9 p.m. MDT Thursday, October 22, with possible tornadoes, large hail and damaging wind gusts.

The alert identifies the potential for a couple of tornadoes, scattered hail up to 2 inches in diameter and scattered wind gusts reaching 70 mph.

Tornado Watch No. 693 covers portions of both states, with the highlighted area including Flagstaff and Snowflake in Arizona, and Gallup and Silver City in New Mexico.
