Russell Brand Trial in London: Defence Challenges Witness’s Account

Russell Brand’s defence lawyer challenged a witness over differences between his police statement and courtroom testimony as the comedian’s trial continued at Southwark Crown Court in London on Thursday.

The witness, a former boyfriend of a woman accusing Brand of rape, said he stood by his police statement and that additional details given in court were also correct.

Under questioning by Ian Winter KC, he rejected the suggestion that the woman had agreed to sexual activity she later regretted.

Brand denies all the charges against him.
