Arrest made in 2025 hit-and-run that killed Sunset Park grandmother

The NYPD says an arrest has been made in a 2025 hit-and-run that killed a Sunset Park grandmother. Investigators say Byron was crossing 7th Avenue at 41st Street, within a crosswalk and with a crossing signal, when she was struck.

Jose Rodriguez-Duran, 33, was arrested just over a year after he allegedly flew through a red light and fatally struck 75-year-old Judith Byron.
